Times Of Swaziland: GAWUZELA READY TO TACKLE POLITICS GAWUZELA READY TO TACKLE POLITICS ================================================================================ BY NHLANHLA MATHUNJWA on 16/05/2018 04:17:00 MBABANE – “If my people nominate me for this year’s National Elections I will gladly accept.” These were words spoken by local gospel superstar Mduduzi ‘Gawuzela’ Simelane. For the past two terms, he has been attending the nomination process and each time he was nominated he would decline to take part. However, this year is a different year for Mduduzi ‘Gawuzela’ Simelane. The artist has indicated that if it happens that the people of his constituency decide to nominate him, he will not have a problem of standing. “Emazulu asavumile, sekuyakhanya (The heavens have agreed and all is bright),” said Simelane when asked if he would stand for the elections this year. He said in the past two terms, he had not been standing because he felt he was not ready to serve the people in that regard and that he needed to grow. “It should be clear that I am ready to serve my people if they still see me fit to do so,” he said. Simelane went on to urge the youth to participate in the elections, saying it would to benefit the country’s growth. “The youth must learn to exercise patience and go and register despite the long queues. This is a very important task and their input towards building a better nation is needed,” he added. On the other hand, Simelane has registered to take part through casting a vote for the forthcoming National Elections. Simelane, who is the founder and leader of Mduduzi Nezinceku Zamagagwugawu, took 10 minutes of his time yesterday morning to register. He registered three days after the Elections and Boundaries Commission (EBC) opened the registration process. Gawuzela, as he is famously known, did this at KaMkhweli, Siphofaneni. Soon after the process he was given a card confirming him that he had registered and was eligible to vote or to be voted for.
