SNCAC RAKES IN E280K IN NACA AWARDS

EZULWINI – It is raining money. In the space of an hour, the Swaziland
National Council of Arts and Culture cashed in a sum of E280 000.
This is through the sale of the National Arts and Culture 50/50 Awards
categories, which cost E10 000 each.
The categories were unveiled last Tuesday night at the Happy Valley Hotel, and 
saw different companies spending money buying the different music categories.
Conducting the unveiling  was  Swaziland National Council of Arts and Culture
(SNCAC) Chief Executive Officer Stanley Dlamini.
Out of the 42 categories, the council has so far sold 28. Dlamini said they
hoped to sell all the categories in the next week or two. If they sell all the
categories, the council will make a sum of E420 000.
Taking the lead was fast growing communication company Swazi Mobile. The company
bought six categories spending a sum of E60 000.  Categories bought by Swazi
Mobile are ‘Best Song, ‘Best Artist, ‘Best DJ’, ‘Best Choral Group’,
‘Best Male Artist’ and ‘Best Female Artist.’
Joining Swazi Mobile in buying a number of categories was Macmillan Swaziland.
The company spent E50 000 in buying five categories. These categories are
‘Honorary Award for Language Preservation’, ‘Honorary Author Award for
Swazi History, and ‘Honorary Author Award for Fiction, ‘Honorary Veteran
Author Award’ and ‘Best Theatre Group’
Also joining the party was Puma Swaziland, Sigeja Curious and Destiny Music
which each bought three categories.
Dlamini thanked the companies for believing in the NACA 50/50 Awards concept.
