MALKERNS- If your favourite local artist has been working hard the past year,
then you know for sure he/she is part of Sibebe Friday Night Live list of
performers for this year.
The highly anticipated Season 7 of Sibebe Friday Night Live is back with a bang
and was officially launched at House on Fire this past Tuesday during an event
graced by the winners of this season as well as the judges and some industry
professionals.
The winning artists who will take part in the new season of Sibebe Friday Night
Live were revealed during the launch and these include the likes of local
artists’ Eimsofly, Mandisa, Symphony, Mr Music, M.Triggerson, Copsy Mwansa,
SupaCDQ, DJ Lady Zee and DJ Cybos.
House on Fire representative, Bongani Dlamini said that the choice of artists
gives a fair share of diversity in terms of the genres on offer. “We are also
excited to see more female artists take part in the new season of the series,”
he said.
Dlamini also revealed the dates of the three Sibebe Friday Night Live shows
which will take place on Friday February 16, 2018 where Mandisa, Mr Music and
SupaCDQ will be the main acts of the night, March 9, 2018 where Symphony, Copsy
Mwansa, and DJ Cybos will perform on the night and April 6 where Eimsofly, M.
Triggerson, and DJ Lady Zee will take on the stage.
Arts and Culture CEO, Stanley Dlamini was also present during the launch and
said that he was impressed with how much the entertainment industry has grown in
Swaziland.
It is also important to note that, as revealed by Dlamini that artists were
chosen not only based on musical capability, but as proudly Swazi brands, Sibebe
Premium Lager and House on Fire were looking for proudly local sounds that would
best represent Swaziland.
