USA ‘CLASSIC MAN’ HIT MAKER, JIDENNA IN SD! ================================================================================ BY NONDUMISO MSIBI on 02/02/2018 01:27:00 MBABANE – They say there are three things a person needs to keep private; your love life, your income and your next move. But if you’re a worldwide celebrity, is that really possible? He orbits somewhere between the celestial highs of fashion and style and is a Grammy nominated world star, yet he has successfully managed to be in the country secretly for two days. United States of America singer Jidenna, whose full name is Jidenna Theodore Mobisson, arrived in Swaziland last Tuesday night. Signed to American Grammy award winner Janelle Monae’s Wondaland Records, Jidenna’s first official single ‘Classic Man’ which he released in 2015, became a hit worldwide. It debuted at number 49 on USA Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-hop airplay chart. Dressed in blue Adidas sweat pants and a white t-shirt proudly written AFRICA and uniquely bronze dyed hair in plaits, one would have missed the Grammy award nominated USA star, as he sat casually last Wednesday afternoon among other tourists, who had come to witness the beautiful cultural dances showcased daily at the Mantenga Cultural Village. However, those familiar with music would now and again nudge each other and whisper among themselves, seemingly asking if their eyes were not seeing a look-a-like. While others tried to sneakily take pictures, his entourage made sure he was surrounded. Speaking to his manager Whippa Wiley, she said in as much as Jidenna loved his fans, this was a private visit to unwind and that is why he could not pose for any pictures or have any formal press interviews. She did however hint that the ‘Classic man’ hit maker was in the country shooting a project and that they consider coming back for his musical tour which will commence next month. During his visit to Mantenga Cultural Village on Wednesday, Jidenna and his entourage seemed to be enjoying the scenery of the place as they would now and again take pictures. They also joined the maidens during the cultural dances as they got to be tutored more on Swazi culture and way of life. Among those who were with the star was custom jeweler Keenin Schoefied of Schofield & CO, and local rappers Trippy King and Flameboy Universe.
