However, inmates will get an opportunity of watching the ‘Omunye Phezukomunye’ hit song being performed live free of charge. South Africa’s Destruction Boys, who are expected to give a heated performance at the Timbali Lodge tomorrow night,will start off with a free show for inmates today. All inmates at the Pigg’s Peak Correctional Centre will enjoy a live performance by the duo starting at 11am today. According to their manager, this is part of the group’s social responsibility and they are excited to be bringing some fun to the inmates as they rehabilitate their lives. Had the group been booked by His Majesty’s Correctional Services, the institution led by Commissioner General Mzuthini Ntshangase, could have paid not less than E90 000 for their performance fee. The group arrived in the country last night and their first assignment will be meeting the inmates this morning, and sharing a few motivational speeches. The Durban based duo is expected to speak and perform for over 400 inmates with their trending ‘Gqom’ music genre. They will be performing all the songs taken from their latest album titled ‘Gqom, is the Future’. His Majesty’s Correctional Services (HMCS) Commissioner General, Mzuthini Ntshangase said he was humbled when he received a request from the Destruction Boys, to brighten up the inmates day.
