MBABANE – Amanda Du Pont just knows how to throw a party!
The Swazi born yet South African based actress, presenter and model just proved
why she is going up the entertainment ladder in South Africa. She did an
outstanding homecoming gesture at the KaGogo Crossover Party which was at
Tum’s Water World Hotel where she was a host. Boosting her renditions was
local socialite and TV personality, Themba ‘Mthimbawawa’ Xaba and they were
an A-team as hosts and MCs of the show. Not only were they calling up acts but
they were the acts themselves as they danced for the crowd many times. Also, Du
Pont showed her humble side by engaging with the fans; talking to them, making
sure they were catered for and even taking many pictures with them with a
genuine smile and enthusiasm each time.
At 12 midnight, the MCs did an outstanding countdown, as they popped champagne
and danced to ‘Omunye’, a hit track by Distruction Boyz which was the
crossover song at the KaGogo Crossover Party. About 500 fun lovers attended the
show which was organised by Toxik Entertainment and they screamed and danced
with joy with each rendition that was made. Performances of the day did not
disappoint; both locals and internationals. Home Boyz, a three member hip hop
group made the crowd dance just after the countdown to the New Year was made.
South Africa’s TLT were the first international group to perform at around
2.30am, they brought their swag game with them and proved why they were
recruited by Kwesta. Their performance caused many to flock  to the dance  floor
. Buffalo Souljah on the other hand, proved why his face is always on Trace
Africa and Channel O. His performance mainly composed of reggae and dancehall
music. He mainly performed Bob Marley’s songs which brought emotion to many.
Toxik Entertainment’s Kim Du Pont stated that she was happy with how the show
turned out. “I believe that people could have come in numbers but this is the
first KaGogo show and I believe it will get better and bigger with time. I
should confess though that the performances were out of this world and we are
proud that we delivered what we promised to people,” she said.
