Times Of Swaziland: METROPOLITAN CHURCH’S ‘SIX TO SIX’ A SUCCESS METROPOLITAN CHURCH’S ‘SIX TO SIX’ A SUCCESS ================================================================================ BY NHLANHLA MATHUNJWA on 04/12/2017 07:07:00 MANZINI – Heavens were opened as gospel artists gave what can be described as an anointed and spirit- illed performance. Over 15 gospel artists gave a 12- hour performance, leaving gospel music lovers wanting for more. This was during the Metropolitan Evangelical Church Fundraising Gospel Music Festival held last Saturday night. Gospel music lovers filled the newly built church that cost over E10 million, as they all wanted to witness the top performance that was displayed by the local artists. This is the first major event to be held at the extravagant church structure. The over 200 gospel music lovers were not disappointed as they worshiped and praised God together with the various groups that performed. These included Phathwakahle Mabuza, Banele Dlamini, Apostle Vusi Maculuve, Thabile Myeni, Sipho Makhabane, Mduduzi Nezinceku Zamagawugawu, Linda Dlamini, Redemption Story and more. Those who attended the show seemed to have been prepared to dance throughout the night, and the artists did not disappoint as they all gave their best live performance throughout the night. The show started just after 6pm and by then, gospel music lovers were already inside the church hall waiting for the first artist to be on stage. Mzwakhe ‘Tjovitjo’ Khumalo, who was the master of ceremonies made sure he kept the audience informed and entertained as well with jokes now and again. Each time he introduced a group to take the stage, music lovers would start singing the group’s songs even before the group started performing , proving that the line-up was made up of well-known gospel artists. Khumalo seemed to enjoy himself on stage as he also sang alongside with the fans. By the time the show ended at 6am Sunday morning, music lovers still wanted more from the artists. They seemed not prepared to go home, saying it was already Sunday, a day to worship so they may as well continue. Most of the music lovers mentioned that they enjoyed the show, adding that all artists proved that Swazis were a talented bunch. They mentioned that they are hoping there would be more shows like this one, that would see more local artists coming together to give their best performances.
