MBABANE – There’s a reason to celebrate. This comes after local country duo,
Dusty and Stones won the International Country Music Duo of the year award.
This was during the Texas Sounds International Country Music Awards held in
Texas on Sunday night.
The event brought participants from around the world and audience members from
across the nation to Jefferson, Texas in the United States of America.
Locals, Dusty and Stones and other international musicians flocked to Jefferson
in the hopes of winning a Texas Sounds Award. A Texas Sounds award exerts a
substantial positive influence on each musician’s career. Texas Sounds
attracts the best country artists from every nation.
Surprise
Being the only African musicians who took part in the awards, Dusty and Stones
were taken by surprise when they were called on stage to receive their award,
they won ‘country duo of the year’ award which they will be bringing back
home.
The duo expressed gratitude to their country for supporting their music, and
giving them a platform to share their talent with the world.
Mostly recognising Swazi Rally organisers who have always made sure the duo is
in the final line-up every year since the rally’s inception.
This is the first international award won by the duo and it has put them on the
map as one of the best country music performers.
The star studded night saw performances by over 15 artists including Dusty and
Stones.
