Times Of Swaziland: SNCAC URGES ACASWA TO PROMOTE ARTISTS SNCAC URGES ACASWA TO PROMOTE ARTISTS ================================================================================ BY NHLANHLA MATHUNJWA on 02/11/2017 01:14:00 MBABANE – SNCAC wants ACASWA’s new executive committee to make sure gospel artists were promoted locally and outside the country. Swaziland National Council of Arts and Culture (SNCAC) is the mother body of all associations in the art industry while the Association of Christian Artists in Swaziland ( ACASWA) is the mother body of all gospel musicians in the country. ACASWA held their elections last Sunday where Mzwakhe Myeni was elected president. Stanley Dlamini, SNCAC Chief Executive Officer (CEO), thanked all the artists who attended the elections, saying it was a sign that artists saw the need to subscribe to the association . The CEO said the newly elected committee has a lot to do for artists. “One of their mandates is to make sure that they promote the artists locally and outside the country. This will happen through creating more opportunities for the artists,” he said. He said they were also expecting ACASWA to consider the welfare of their members. “As a council, we are concerned about the welfare of the artists and this is one thing that ACASWA should look at. Once the artist’s welfare is considered then the music will improve,” he said. Dlamini said they would soon be inviting the executive to an induction where they will get to be informed about the SNCAC policies. “We hope they will have a successful term and we will be there to assist them in everything,” he said.
