Times Of Swaziland: LOCAL PERSONALITIES SPEAK AGAINST VIOLENCE ON WOMEN LOCAL PERSONALITIES SPEAK AGAINST VIOLENCE ON WOMEN ================================================================================ BY PHUMLA DLAMINI on 19/05/2017 01:34:00 MBABANE – At the height of the ongoing violence against women local personalities have come out to speak against abuse of women and their killing. They are using the social media platform to raise awareness and also speak against the killing of women, something that has been on the rise locally and in neighbouring South Africa. In a post on Facebook yesterday Hip Hop Artist Illa Penboy pleaded with women not to send their nude pictures to men they barely know or have met on social media or give them their mobile numbers He noted that this is usually done in the blesser/blessee relationships, adding that it should come to an end as women are now exposed to all kinds of dangers due to this. “Do not entertain blessers, most are thugs with dirty money. Once you are in, you are in and they will hunt you. “Stay in your lane, work hard and earn your own money. Do not trust every man, please do not,” he went on to say. Miss Swaziland Tourism Nadia Nascimento currently has a profile picture with the ‘On Strike’ emblem where the campaign is to end violence against women. Other celebrities who used this protest logo were Nothando Hlophe, Miss Swaziland Director Nosisa Maziya, gospel artist Banele Dlamini, Hip Hop Artist C4 and many others. The personalities are all taking a stand against the scourge of violence and killings. Besides the well known personalities, other social media users are using this platform to speak against the horrible killing, kidnappings and brutalising of women. Makeup artist Khosi Shabalala has also called upon women to stand up against violence on May 28.
