Companies and individuals are made to choose from various services that range from pickups, express delivery, errands, messenger services and grocery shopping, among others. Mbabane-based On Track Eswatini (OTE) reported an increased demand for delivery services following the outbreak of the coronavirus. The country had recorded four cases at the time of compiling this report. “Our services include groceries and fast food deliveries, gift hampers, messenger services, transporting of laboratory samples, laundry and general supplies. “Social distancing does not have to mean a stop to your normal daily hood. OTE is at your service to go about any request you might need to be catered for. We as OTE will follow safety precautions to always sanitise and keep clean,” shared the company on its official online platforms. Marcia Meves, who is an administrator at the company, shared that the demand for their services increased by between 30 and 35 per cent since the outbreak, saying they had now forged partnerships with companies like the Swazi Plaza. “As the Swazi Plaza, we want to do our part with the current state of disaster in Eswatini by suggesting a practical solution for all those who are at home as a safety precaution. We are committed to working with our retail partners, government agencies, first responders and communities at large to keep everyone safe, catered for and fed and will continue to iterate on any interventions to achieve,” reads in part shared information from Swazi Plaza. Deliveries in places around Mbabane, Oshoek and Manzini range between E30 and E550. The delivery prices depend on the mode of transport, with motorcycles the cheapest.
