Times Of Swaziland: ELVIS PRESLEY ‘ALIVE’ AT PIGG’S PEAK HOTEL ELVIS PRESLEY ‘ALIVE’ AT PIGG’S PEAK HOTEL ================================================================================ BY JOSEPH ZULU on 06/12/2018 05:12:00 PIGG’S PEAK – Tony De King, a comedian, almost fooled folks into believing the myth that Elvis Presley was still alive. Elvis Presley was an American singer and actor who earned himself the title, ‘King of Rock and Roll’ but despite his death in 1977, some of his die-hard followers believe he is still alive. Just like Elvis was known as ‘The King, Tony is known as ‘De King’. De King performed the late musician’s songs on Saturday evening and entertained mainly tourists as well as some locals. Clad in a similar outfit to that worn by the legendary musician, De King entertained his guests. He was exposed as an impersonator when he sang one of Elvis Presley’s songs sung in an Indian accent as he hobbled his head. Comedian De King, an Irish comedian, co performed with another, Tony Stewart who is Scottish. Stewart revealed that he was born in 1936 which means he is 82 years old but he said a woman recently told him he only looked 70 years old. It is not the first time the duo has performed at the venue. According to Stewart, they performed at the hotel when it was still known as The Protea Hotel about 16 years ago. Stewart said it was refreshing returning to the country to perform, saying the audience had slightly changed.
