Times Of Swaziland: ENTREPRENEURS TAKE ADVANTAGE OF REXY AUCTION ENTREPRENEURS TAKE ADVANTAGE OF REXY AUCTION ================================================================================ BY KWANELE DHLADHLA on 14/09/2018 03:17:00 MBABANE – Entrepreneurs took advantage of the bargain prices at the officeware and houseware auction to fulfill their business expansion goals. Among the nearly 50 bidders who crammed the Mbabane Magistrates Court car park was businessman Kahn Junad from Variety Centre, who purchased shelving equipment for E29 000. Junad, who out-bidded about four people at the auction convened by Rexy’s Investments, said he would fit the new shelving equipment at his new shop within the city centre. “I am building a shop, so that is where I will use the shelving equipment,” said Junad immediately after successfully purchasing the equipment for E27 000 from a reserve price of E3 000. Soon after the shelving equipment was sold, another lot of shelving equipment was put on offer by Auctioneer Melusi Qwabe. In this instance, Junad managed to purchase similar equipment for an unopposed bid price of E2 000. “We are not playing games here, we want serious buyers who are determined to acquire quality products at bargain prices,” quipped Qwabe, soon after Junad purchased the shelving material. Another item which was highly contested at the auction included a Dayton 20 inch disc sander, which was auctioned for E5 000 from a reserve price of E2 000. Beds, sofas, curtains, computers and office partitioning equipment also formed part of the items that went under the hammer for varying prices. There were also two motor vehicles on offer; an Isuzu double cab bakkie and a 2008 Kia mini truck, which did not attract bids when availed to the bidders. There were only unconfirmed offers that were made to the auctioneer. Bidders were expected to pay a refundable deposit of E1 000 to be eligible to make bids at the auction, which lasted for about two hours.
