The shop will be located at the newly constructed shopping complex next to Leites Toyota Mbabane along Checkers Road. Reliable information which has been communicated to the Business Desk was to the effect that tenants at the incomplete structure which sits on 1 700 square metres would include OK liquor, Swazi Mobile and another tenant which cannot be disclosed until negotiations have been finalised. “OK Foods will be the anchor tenant occupying approximately 1 500 square metres,” the source disclosed. He mentioned that when the structure has been completed it would comprise of 97 parking bays, a traffic circle and public toilets among other amenities. Completed It was mentioned that the structure was expected to have been completed and ready for operations by June 1, 2018. The source explained that main contractors during the construction phase were Mbhilibhi Group, electricians were Mormond Electrical and Wright provided air-conditioning services. In terms of job creation, the project created around 500 jobs, both temporary and permanent. On the value of investment, the source said he would be in a position to disclose the total amount of money in the next three weeks after certain costs which include other developments such as the parking bay had been calculated. Explaining what had prompted the development to be undertaken; the source explained that they intended to provide convenience to customers especially those who may not want to be caught in traffic jams within the city centre during peak hours. LINAC Investments Director Lincoln Motsa confirmed that they would soon open shop at the new complex. Motsa could only say: “OK Foods will be the anchor tenants (at the new complex). Opening ‘‘More details will be disclosed closer to the opening date.” Recently Linac Investments opened its E36 million shopping complex. The shopping centre has been named; ‘South Gate Shopping Centre’ in line with its location at the country’s hub is at Ngwane Park. It comprises of OK Foods, OK Liquor store, Galitos, a butchery, Fruit and vegetable store, Swazi MTN, Swazi Mobile, a Total Filling station, a 24 hour store and Auto Teller Machines (ATMs) from most of the commercial banks, Standard Bank, Nedbank, First National Bank (FNB) and Building Society. Motsa said the shopping complex at Ngwane Park was OK Foods flagship store in the country. Motsa also runs the SaveMor stores situated in most parts of the country. The shopping centre created more than 210 jobs.
