GOD’S PROBATION PERIOD SHRINKING

Whichever way one might look at it, the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ Himself, is about to make His long awaited, Second, grand Coming not too long from now. How dare I say that, when I am a run-off-the-mill columnist,, one might be asking? Read on...

Although we may not exactly pinpoint or predict neither the year, the day nor the hour of His imminent, Second Coming, the loving God gave us signs contained in His infallible and Holy Book that will herald this much eagerly awaited by some (scoffed at by others), earth shattering event. Without any shadow of doubt, looking at the signs, something is ominously brewing on the horizon.

The groundwork for this event is relentlessly being prepared and the conditions for His grand entrance are becoming ripe by the year, weeks, days and hours....
If one bothers him or herself to look, hear or feel the evil that is pemeating the whole world - Eswatini included -  there is no doubt at all that this planet is frenetically turning into a dangerous, broken, violent, immoral, corrupt universe. It is only the blind and/or those devil-deceived who cannot discern that the die is cast and that the world is in the last stages of its calendar.

trusting in his own might

God’s ways are with impunity, and with audacity, being spit upon. Mankind is incessantly being defiant, trusting in his own might and power, relegating God’s right to rule His creation into the background. Universally, most humans, inclusive of those in this country, have become idolatrous, trusting more in secular powers, in traditional beliefs and customs - many of which are in direct contradiction to God’s Word -  more than they do (or should do) in God’s Word.

We recently had a visitor in our shores from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), sent by the powers of darkness on a mission that was meant to hoodwink some of our people into witnessing a contest of magic spells intended to be performed by him as well as local witchdoctors - an act which God views with abhorrence. The One who created all mankind in His likeness and image hates sin in all its forms. I applaud our government for stopping the DRC’s impostor’s mission dead in its tracks. Bravo!

Dvokolwako High pupils

I was appalled to read Tuesday’s edition of the Times of Eswatini where it reported about a perplexing account of how school children attending school at Dvokolwako High School ran amok, vandalising school property and pelted with stones law enforcement agencies who were deployed to the school to calm the situation. During our schooling days, we respected the police - but not today’s youth.

The bone of contention, it is alleged, is suspected witchcraft practices allegedly implicating one of their teachers. How they came to reach that conclusion is not worth writing about, as far as yours truly is concerned. What I and many others cannot condone is taking the law into their own hands and assaulting the police. That is a very serious crime of obstructing the police while in the line of duty. For that heinous crime, heads must roll. Parents send their children to school to learn - not to be unruly and assault adults, destroying school property - all in the name of witchcraft beliefs.

Whenever something out of the ordinary or weird takes place in society, I always look up the infallible Word of God to find answers and/or the reasons behind any strange occurrences. God’s Word never lies. As much as mankind scoffs at the prophesied Word, it never falters in its predictions.

The Word of God prophesied about the increase in lawlessness in the last days. Is it a strange phenomenon that crime rates are dangerously increasing exponentially - something unheard of fifty or so, years ago? Look at how people are increasingly becoming brutal, how the love of many has grown cold.

Is it any wonder how violent crimes are on the increase? People are not content in solving disputes or misunderstandings through dialogue. The eye for an eye Mosaic law is being adopted and practiced with brutality. Marital disputes triggered by infidelity are now best solved through violence. Sadly, innocent children are caught up in the violence and end up losing their young lives.

truth Defenders threatened

Civil authorities are increasingly being intolerant of dissenting voices. Defenders of the truth are being threatened and hounded, with their lives made hellish.
Freedom of expression is ominously being threatened. Some journalists are being threatened, with others pushed out of their jobs because the bad guys cannot tolerate the truth.

Some journalists in many countries around the world have been killed for writing truth to  power. Remember the Jamal Khashoggi, Saudi Arabian author and journalist incident? We as writers have an ominous axe hanging over our necks for standing for the truth. Some faceless and powerful people do not take kindly to us for telling it as it is. God’s Word prophesied that in the last days, truth will not be tolerated. Christians in many countries are persecuted for preaching God’s truth - exactly like it was during the Dark Ages of papal Rome.

Mankind is deeply embroiled in pursuing personal success in life and shelving their spiritual obligations, forgetting that God warns that “ the world and its desires pass away, but those who do the will of God live forever”.

Blinded by Satan and his agents, we conveniently forget that “we are all going to stand before the Judgement Seat of the avenging God and will have to account for all our deeds - good or bad”
We give glory to man more than we give it to God the one who created us. Men in our midst have been turned into demigods. For gaining favours, we shower mankind with accolades, titles and revere them more than we do God.

We have forgotten to be our brother’s keeper and spit on God’s command of “love thy neighbour as thy love thyself”. We conveniently trample on  God’s admonishing that we cannot claim to love God whom we have not seen, if we fail to love our neighbour. Charity, it is said, begins at home. The rich, who have in abundance, fail to share with the destitute.

They may rather donate thousands to churches than help the  needy. What reward will we get if we share our possessions with those who have in abundance?
We pray, labanye baze bakhale, in a futile bid to invoke God’s blessings whilst on the other hand we mix His worship with that of demons and expect Him to heal our land.

We need to look back and learn from the written accounts of the final fate of the decadent, ancient cities of Sodom and Gomorrah; how their sins finally reached the brim of God’s tolerance.
