WOLOLO DOLOLO! AS QUEEN SNUBBED

THE killing of insects is called insecticide! The killing of infants is called infanticide! The killing of females is called femicide! The killing of ethnic groups is called genocide! And the killing of talent is called talentcide, of course, if you use the Macford English dictionary.

We keep witnessing homicide in music awards , sadly no one gets arrested and someone is getting away with murder! A serial killer is on the loose and he has turned paradise city into panic city because nowhere on earth can a song trend for the whole year and when it has to enjoy the fruits of its toil,  it gets a dololo! 
And this is exactly what happened to Babes Wodumo’s song Wololo; for all what it is worth, it always gets a dololo! And ‘dololo’ means ‘nothing’ of course, if you use the Macford siSwati dictionary.

Instead of inspiring, music awards are now expiring talent and these Nazi and Gestapo tendencies are leading it into a holocaust of talent.
In the republic of Obama some years back, a disgruntled Kanye West snapped when he was snubbed. He ducked and dived at  bouncers, scampered on stage and dished out 25 tons of despise to organisers for such ‘humiliation’; six nominations and not a single award to pocket.

The following year he was nominated six times and won six times. So concomitantly anger is needed? But do we have to go to that length for one’s voice to be heard? And that’s the dark dungeon the ‘Wololo’ hitmaker has been pushed into because of the snub of her hit song. First, she got a knock out from a certain Van Damme for a song that separated the old and New Year. Then it was the Metro Awards. Now this; Sama Awards which according to me has deteriorated to an all time low.

The snubbing of a trending song, which is enjoying massive air play at clubs and parties will go down in history as a crime against humanity for lack of a better word. The artist would have grabbed at least three even in the Metro Awards.
Music has seasons and if it is someone’s season he has to be respected with accolades because seasons are not the same.

This was Babes Wodumo’s season and she deserved six awards at both the Metro and Samas. For her not grabbing even one, persuades one to conclude that there is something fishy. What saddens me is that we are not sure she will be as hot as she is two years from now. So why this killing of talent just because you have a licence to kill?
Even if the organisers had a thing with her all they had to do respect her craft even if they don’t respect her as a person. One day this will haunt them. Does Babes have to do a ‘Kanye West?’ No! She has to keep pushing and pushing and ignore those who snub her.
