Royal Swazi Sun International came alive last week Saturday when ladies put on their summer elegant outfits for a high tea afternoon of fun.
Behind this amazing idea was the Royal Swazi Sun marketing team, of course, including events coordinator Nokwazi Ndlovu.

The bubbly and charming woman also played MC for the day, keeping the ladies well informed on the day’s activities. GCWALA caught up with the young corporate climber as she filled us in on her life and career.

Education...
Growing up in the beautiful ever green valley of Malkerns Nokwazi always wanted to study law. Through her early stages of high school she thought being a lawyer would be a perfect career for her. “I was gifted in public speaking and assumed law would be a great career choice. Eventually I just realised that hospitality and tourism industry were my first love.” After high school she armed herself with a degree in Consumer Sciences, majoring in Hospitality. “Education is very important and as we speak I am currently enrolled with Regent Business School for a post graduate diploma. I plan to study marketing as well,” she says. Nolwazi says she stumbled into marketing while positioning  herself on how best to climb the corporate ladder. ‘‘I learnt that marketing is the engine of any organisation, I found this very interesting and I am definitely going all out to equip myself.”

Challenges of the Job...
Well, events coordination is really all about the success of the event itself. So I do not want to say this is a challenge per say, but one must know  that this job requires efficiency, hard work and creativity.

Accomplishment...
My biggest accomplishment so far is a personal one, and that is allowing Jesus Christ into my life. Life is not always easy but in order to succeed I have learnt that matter what happens there is always something to smile about .

Nokwazi the woman …
I am a woman full of life, who  loves God, travelling and movies. My inspiration is definitely my mom and my ultimate dream is to be a leading lady in the hospitality industry one day, especially as regards marketing. I also look up to South African gospel sensation Ntokozo Mbambo. I love the way she loses herself on stage when she worships and the career growth in her life.

If I were to work in any city…
It would be Paris! That is a fashion capital and I love shoes and bags. It would be such an indulgence and a dream come true. Anyone who knows me will tell you I have a weakness for shoes.

Advice to others...
If you  get into the hospitality industry, you simple have to study hard and know that you will have to work your way from the bottom to the top.
