MBABANE – Pressure during preparations of the Swaziland Music and Arts Association (SWAMA) Music Festival held over the past weekend almost saw Lutfo Dlamini resigning as the association’s president.

The former minister who was elected as the association’s president in June this year wanted to get everything right during the show resulting to him having pressure.
Dlamini revealed this during a press conference held on Tuesday afternoon at the La Casserole Restaurant.

“With only 120 days in office, we had to make sure that we pull out a successful show. It was not easy at all. We had a lot of pressure to produce a good show. The pressure was so much that I almost resigned as I wanted everything to go accordingly.”
He thanked all the SWAMA executive committee members for the role they played in making sure that the event becomes a success.

“They worked tirelessly and they all had one goal, to make sure that the show becomes a success. I am happy that everything went accordingly and as SWAMA we are grateful with everything.”
Dlamini did not want to mention exactly as to what triggered him to think of resigning only saying organising the event was difficult.
“I must thank all the sponsors who contributed towards the success of the festival. Most of the people who attended were happy. We had to make sure that there is enough security and indeed this worked well as we did not get any reports of violence.”

He said the next event would be much bigger, promising that more local artists would take part in the show.
“Our emphasis is on local artists. We will make sure that we add more artists next year. We already have a few companies that have promised to contribute in our next festival. We have to be sure that it becomes a success.”
