MBABANE – While the Miss Swaziland pageant lies in limbo, the organisers of Miss Cultural Heritage (SNCAC) have made sure they put plans in place to adhere with the Beauty Pageants Framework.

Yesterday they unveiled a E53 280 expenditure on prizes to be won.
The finals of the pageant will take place on Saturday at Bethel Court and it was imperative that the Council as the owners of the pageant declare the prizes as per the framework.

The event will start off through rehearsals that will take place tomorrow at Alliance Francaise where the contestants will be taken through their paces alongside Pelepele dance group by the group’s director Larry Mhlanga.
They will also visit Phela-Live gym at The Gables for body conditioning.

On Saturday the event will start at 2pm with a talent search competition where the Dlala Sibone project which is on its third edition will be incorporated into the programme.
The winner will win E1 000 in cash.
Also included in the programme is a line-up fashion show and food exhibition session.

Sponsors

The Swaziland National Council of Arts and Culture CEO, Stanley Dlamini, thanked all the sponsors who have partnered with them in making the event a success.
He said what was critical was the fact that they got the platform to declare their sponsorships personally than for the office to talk on their behalf.
“The world is about culture and we will make sure that we portray that on Saturday as we hope everyone that will attend will be in traditional attire. The first five people to attend the event will get free entry if they are on traditional regalia.”

He said Swazis should not embarrass themselves and dress in western style as there will be SABC coverage during the event and Swaziland was regarded as a culture capital.
Lastly he highlighted that even the crowning will be traditionally influenced.
Kenneth Hlophe who spoke on behalf of sponsors said it was encouraging to be associated with a pageant that had a queen that conducts herself in a positive way.

“Not because the pageant is under the Council but there are a lot of positives from the pageant hence our sponsorship for the eventual winners,”
Nomsa M and Pelepele will be responsible for the entertainment and a point of note is that all the performances will be inclusive of the contestants. Entry fee is E150.

The prizes for the queen include a laptop, cellphone, sportswear, driving lessons from Sisonkhe Driving School, a gym voucher at Phela-Live, four dresses from Ligomba and a scholarship from Eonsage.
The first princess will get a cellphone, sportswear and make-up hampers from Perfume Hut .The second princess will get a cellphone as well and the make-up voucher. Notably, all the winners will get traditional accessories

All the other contestants will receive perfume and make-up hampers.
