MBABANE – The much anticipated SWAMA Music Festival will include a fashion show on the night and it will be the first item on the line-up.

The event will take place this coming Saturday, October 24, 2014 at Mhlume Stadium.

SWAMA is an acronym for Swaziland Association of Music and Arts.
This follows a partnership between the association and Fashion International.
The association’s Public Relations Officer Menzi Mtsetfwa confirmed the latest developments and highlighted that such formed part of the association’s mission statement.

Happy

“We are a music and arts association thus we can not only focus on the performances by artists alone hence the incorporation of the fashion show.
‘‘We are happy to partner with Fashion International on this regard and it will be the first item  on the line-up scheduled to start  from 6pm until 7pm.Ours is to invite all fashionists to attend in numbers and they should make sure that they come early so that they do not miss the located time” he said.

Nompilo Mncina (former Miss Swaziland) talking on behalf of CONTEMPO which is a company trading under Fashion International confirmed the partnership with SWAMA.

“We are very excited about the deal we got as it will also give us a mileage on the night since we anticipate hundreds of people to attend. We will be using models from the company and people should come in numbers,” she said.

Highlighted

On another note Mtsetfwa also highlighted that they have also beefed up the line-up in terms of artists as they have added Shongwe and Khuphuka plus Mduduzi Nezinceku Zamagawugawu.

“It is with great excitement that we have managed to add two of Swaziland’s gospel gurus and award winners. We all know that the two groups have a great following in the country and the addition has been by popular demand,” he said.

He then urged sponsors who were still interested in partnerships to come on board as there were still a lot of financial gaps.
“We are greatful to those that have pledged their support and this will go a long way in improving the music and art industry,” he said.
