IZINCEKU ZAMAGAWUGAWU’S SUPERB PERFORMANCE AT JOZI FM FESTIVAL

MBABANE – Mduduzi and Izinceku Zamagawugawu got a rare opportunity of being invited to perform in the Jozi FM Gospel Festival.


The group is the first artists to have been invited to perform in the fair that was held in Nasrec Expo Centre in Johannesburg over on Sunday.
The group led by Mduduzi Simelane became the first Swazi group to perform in this festival which has been an annual event  for the past 11 years.
The festival saw over 10 000 people coming together to witness the real taste of gospel music.

Emagagwugawu shared the stage with other top South African artists who included Sifiso Ncwane, Sphumelele Mbambo, Rebecca Malope and Sipho Makhabane.
Emagagwugawu were given 40 minutes and were able to perform five of their famous hits.
Among the hits they performed, they include ‘Iyakwehla Inmvula’, ‘Through It All’ and ‘Sibatjelile NgoJesu’.


Mduduzi ‘Gawuzela’ Simelane, leader of Emagagwugawu said he was happy to have been given the opportunity of being the first Swazi artists to perform in such a show.


“I am honoured to have been given such an opportunity. I received a call from the organisers who asked if it was possible that I become part of the artists that would perform during the show.

“Looking at the type of event and the mileage it has, it was easy for me to agree to the invitation. It is one of the invitations I am honoured to receive,” he said.
Simelane said in as far as he was concerned, he was able to give out his best performance.


“Some of the people who attended the show only knew my songs but they have never watched my performance. I was excited to perform in front of so many people. I was impressed and I should say I am really excited,” he said.
