This month we celebrate women who have made strides in their different line of work.

I met up with former journo, who used to sit on my chair, she has climbed the corporate ladder to be a Public Relation Marketing and Communication Officer, and she is none other than Nozipho Phumelele Ma-mba.
The company she works for, Swaziland Meat Industries, has published an Embiveni Meats recipes book.
She tells us all about her involvement in the recipe book.

My educational background...
Well though it’s hard to believe but I did my high school at Enhlanganisweni High (Mpolonjeni). I will be graduating soon at Tshwane University of Technology in Pretoria, Soshanguve Campus for a B-Tech in Journalism.

The recipe book...
Swaziland Meat Industries Limited or Embiveni Meats has produced a cook book titled Embiveni Meats Recipe, aimed at assisting our clientele prepare mouth-watering dishes using our products and a whole lot more. It is basically a second edition, as we had produced another one last year. It is a worthy and handy book that doesn’t use scarce ingredients.

Embiveni Meats is therefore proud to say most of the dishes found in the book can be easily prepared by anyone. The company produced the book on its own and we are still trying to find proper ways in which we can involve other chefs for following productions, that’s if we will decide to continue publishing the cook book annually. The book is already printed and copies are available at Embiveni Meats and it’s free. We are giving the book for free to our regular clients and Embiveni Meats Club Card holders. Should the demand rise, maybe we can put a price tag on it for the costs. My job entails dealing with the media from all levels, marketing the brands under Swaziland Meat Industries Limited which include Simunye Beef, Simunye Pork, Simunye Lamb and Embiveni Meats. I also deal with clients’ complaints at times and try to come up with strategies to assist the company stay at the pinnacle.

Our target market...
Our target market is anyone who is working and eats meat. The company has more projects like this one in the pipeline and such projects are aimed at satisfying our clients and we will reveal them in due course.

Women in the corporate sector...
I believe women in the corporate sector should learn to be supportive of other women working under same. They should groom them to be where they are. Women’s Month means we should celebrate being women.
Advice to the girl child...
Young girls should work hard and create an environment where they will be comfortable working in. They must not be too dependent.

My role models...
I have a few women I look up to such as Thabile Mdluli, she was the first woman who nurtured me and believed in me until this far. She is very intelligent yet down to earth and focused, she has been through a lot but despite everything she is still standing. I admire her courage and strength. I see a lot of myself in her. I also admire Phaphama Tsitsikawe, my mother and Ezulwini Town Board CEO Vusi Matsebula.

My dress
sense...
I love the simple casual wear. I am  an All-star lady, I rarely wear stilettos; this is why for this interview I was dressed by Mahhusha Investments in Matsapha, because I hardly ever buy dresses.

My family...
I come from a big family; I have five sisters and four brothers whom I love dearly. We, unfortunately, lost one brother in a car accident a while back.
