For those who watch news on Swazi TV, they will quickly recognise Nobandile Gwebu. She is one of the gorgeous faces who present the weather.
I had tried for weeks to get hold of just one of them, as I would watch and listen at their updates on how one should dress up the following morning.
I met Nobandile and this is what she had to say.

Early beginnings...
I was born in Mbabane 25 years ago. I did my primary school at Baha’i. I then did my secondary at Lechwe and completed at Mater Dolorosa (MDS).
I later enrolled at Limkokwing University of Creative Technology where I pursued Business Management.
Unfortunately after two semesters I had to drop out due to financial constraints.

My journey to the small screen’s...
I have always had a passion for TV. At one stage I auditioned for a part in Mbongeni Ngema production. I was part of the No43 final cast. This is where my passion for TV grew, after that show I was approached about the presenting job as I was now not doing anything. I was not keen at first as I obviously wanted more out of TV, but I after I got some great training I fell in love with it. Now I do it with ease and passion.

My fans...
The funny thing about being on TV is you get fans and you get recognised on the streets by people. I know someone has seen me on TV when they shout out my name. I just smile and wave to them. I love my viewers very much, even though some of them say strange things, but it’s always fascinating to meet people who watch you on TV. I have kept the same friends I have had even before I got the job on TV. I believe I am friendly person, I make new friends everyday.

My personality...
I do not see myself as a celebrity of some sort. I feel I do not have much as yet to celebrate, maybe in the future when I have accomplished everything I want to achieve in my life. When I am no more I would like to be remembered as a person who had a big heart, who loved people. I would love to help the people who need help by giving back to the community, this will make me content. I would love to change people’s lives by helping those who are vulnerable. I believe I am true to myself; that is my life philosophy, to be humble and have humanity. I do not like to stress about things I can’t fix. Life is like a mirror. If you look at it and smile it smiles back at you.

My role models...
I wouldn’t say I have one particular or more role models. I take a lot of things from different people and make myself my own role model. I look up to Bonang Matheba; she is such an inspiration to young girls. She makes it look easy, I salute her. I love the way she is so confident about herself. She is a true inspiration to us young women.

My other passion...
As much as I love TV I have other passions too. I love doing people’s hair. I make house calls where I go to people’s houses and make them even more beautiful. I also do make-up for weddings and I bake cakes too.

My family...
I am from a big family. I was raised by my mum; my dad passed away when I was very young. I have two brothers and three sisters. I am in a relationship with someone.
