MBABANE – The Swaziland National Council of Arts and Culture has confirmed Miss Swaziland’s participation at the Miss World finals.
The confirmation was reached during a meeting held at the SNCAC offices in Manzini where the Miss Swaziland Director Thandeka Matse was in attendance.

This follows an earlier statement by the Swaziland Beauty Pageants Association President Tony Dlamini that the Miss World organisers had not yet sent an official invitation for the Swazi Queen to take part in the finals.
The Council of Arts and Culture revealed that they had no problem funding the trip pending formal recommendation by the stakeholder (SBPA).

Confirmed

The Council’s Chief Executive Officer Stanley Dlamini confirmed that they have finalised the matter following a meeting held on Monday.
“As we had stated earlier that we had written a letter to the Miss World organisers seeking a formal invite, I can safely confirm that they have sent it hence we will be sending the reigning queen to the prestigious event to be held later this year,” said Dlamini

He further stated that they were now waiting for all the details regarding her participation which include the subscriptions.
Since the Miss World pageant is hosted by the same company that hosted the Mr World pageant, it is expected that the joining fee might range around E20 000 which was the one paid for Mr World’s participation.
“We are also humbled to have received the invite from the Miss Earth organisers as it gave us the platform to choose,” he said.

Representative

Tony Dlamini also confirmed that they have met with the Council of Arts and Culture to conclude the above matter.
“We are hoping to send another representative to Miss Earth as Miss Swaziland will be going to Miss World, but that will be subject to the outcome of our next meetings,” he said.
Matse thanked the Council for making the Queen realise her dream of representing the country at that stage.

“This is the biggest stage and every winner wishes to participate in and I hope and believe that she will do well,” she said.
The reigning Miss Swaziland is Samukelisiwe Magagula.
