THRILLS AT LIMUVA ARTS FESTIVAL

PIGG’S PEAK - It was fun all around during the Limuva Arts Festival, which was hosted on Saturday at Killarney Sports Ground.

The festival was presented by the M Nation Foundation and True Classic, while Author Musa Mseleku was a guest speaker. The mixed genres, from Hip-hop to Reggae and Comedy took turns at the stage. The jam-packed line-up included Durban-based Mapopo and Baba Wethu, Lady Zee, Lisulumane, Mr Kangaroo, Gogo, and S’lwane, among many others.

According to M Nation, the festival’s main aim is to give upcoming artists a chance to thrive in the industry. “This festival will not only provide fun to the region but is the right platform for our growing arts scene in the Hhohho region. This is a platform for our aspiring artists to share the stage with established artists, sparking new relationships in the development of the arts industry in Eswatini,” M Nation said.

M Nation’s wish for giving other artists the platform to be themselves rang true during the festival as upcoming musicians Emagagu, who won the recent Limuva Arts Fest upcoming artist competition, performed live at the show. Their performance was vibrant, and they managed to capture patrons with their ‘Blaq Diamond’ inspired music.
Worth mentioning, Pigg’s Peak Arts Officer Nokwanda Masimula was spotted at the festival.

During a brief interview with this publication, she revealed how M Nation has become an inspiration to the youth and further urged young people to visit their offices for more support of their craft. “We look at M Nation now as an artist who inspires a majority of upcoming artists. He is an international artist; it shows that the upcoming youth can make it in the Arts industry. We praise M Nation for the festival idea and most importantly, for staging it in his hometown,” she said.
