MANZINI – EswatiniBank has pledged E250 000 sponsorship for this year’s MTN iPraise show scheduled for July 29 at Mavuso Trade and
Exhibition Centre.

The sponsorship was announced at Summerfield on Wednesday by EswatiniBank Managing Director (MD) Nozizwe Mulela. When announcing the sponsorship, the MD shared that Gospel music has been successful locally and investing in local talent would help expand it to greater heights. “Gospel music has emerged with countless success stories in our country seen by the many Gospel stars who have emerged. Some being artists who have gone on to great exploits across the borders.

Take for example, Nothando Dlamini, Nduduzo Matse, Shongwe neKhuphuka, these artists are testament of the vast talent we have in the country and surely the love emaSwati have for Gospel music. It then falls upon those with resources to invest in our local talent so that our music industry can expand and be firmly established,” Mulela said. She went on to say ,“Our core mandate as EswatiniBank is to improve the lives of emaSwati. Consequently, we not only play a vital role in offering banking services and promoting the development of Eswatini through financial solutions.

As part of our Corporate Social Investment (CSI) Programme, we also seek to pour into initiatives that build the country morally and economically.” She further said that  MTN iPraise aligns to who and what they are about as a bank. “It pleases us as EswatiniBank to partner and sponsor the MTN iPraise Gospel Music Festival 2023 with E250 000. MTN iPraise Gospel Music Festival is a great initiative that we would like to see grow exponentially,” added Mulela. Minister of Sports Culture and Youth Affairs Harries ‘Madze’ Bulunga lauded the effort made by the bank, citing that it demonstrated a level of importance in developing the local arts industry.

“As a ministry responsible for arts development in the country, these are exciting news to announce, as it demonstrates the level of importance that EswatiniBank, and emaSwati in general, attach to arts development. This event brings together hundreds of emaSwati and Gospel music lovers from across borders, and presents an opportunity for our local upcoming and established Gospel artists to showcase their talents alongside other international musicians,” the minister said.

The minister went on to say; “Making this event somewhat special, is the fact that a higher ratio of performers are emaSwati and, therefore, deserve our support. This premium annual Gospel music festival plays such a significant role in expanding the reach of our Gospel artists and exposing them to an unlimited pool of listeners through the digitisation of the event,” added the minister. The launch was attended by other local musicians such as Gospel powerhouse Nothando Dlamini, Nduduzo Matse, Mzayoni, Zama Mabuza, Linda Dlamini as well as Nothando Hlophe to name a few. Linda Dlamini and Nothando Hlophe serenaded the attendees with live performances. The MC’s of the launch were Nathi Gule and Sakhile Simelane.
