MBABANE – Timothy Myeni has announced that Ncandweni Christ Ambassadors will host a joint restoration revival with South African (SA) Gospel group Joyous Celebration in SA.

The revival will be held at Emperors Palace in Johannesburg, for two days, starting tonight at 7:30pm and on Saturday. The Restoration Revival scheduled by the two giant Gospel groups will be held in Johannesburg and will feature live performances from the two groups. In announcing the revival, Myeni encouraged Gospel fans to quickly get their tickets as preparations were already done for the event.

This was done through a recorded video circulating on social media, which shows the Member of Parliament (MP) revealing subtle details about the revival. In the video Myeni encouraged emaSwati to do their best in attending the event to support one of their own.

Ncandweni Christ Ambassadors is a local Gospel group that was founded in 2004. The ensemble is led by Timothy Myeni, a Nkilongo MP. In 2009, the group won the South African Music Awards for the Best Selling Album and DVD of the year. That same year they also won two awards during the Crown Gospel Music Awards in Durban. Ncandweni Christ Ambassadors are popular for hits like ‘Christ Died For Me’, ‘Izulu Khanya Lami’ and ‘Amazulu a Vulekile’. Joyous Celebration has won  numerous awards,it has produced dynamic singers and musicians and their work has been felt all over the world.

Recorded

The choir was founded in 1996 by Lindelani Mkhize, Jabu Hlongwane and Mthunzi Namba. Their first project was recorded at DownTown Studios in Johannesburg.  “We are actually happy and looking forward to the revival as Ncandweni. We know that things haven’t been going our way, but this event comes as a blessing for us, as doors are opening for us as a group. We would also like to encourage and invite emaSwati to attend the event at Emperors Palace for a worship session with us. We can assure them that, it will be a night to remember as we will be rejoicing in the presence of the Lord. Their support can really motivate us during the event and it will be much appreciated,” Myeni said.

He went on to emphasise that this would be a two-day revival thus fans who may not be able to attend today can still show up tomorrow on Saturday. “This will be a revival hosted for two respective days, which is Friday and Saturday and we would love to have people attend on both days or the following day if they are not able to find time on Friday.

Our group has been through the ups and downs of the industry, but with this event we are taking advantage of opening up more doors and have events like this in the future, so yes we are really grateful,” added Myeni.
The tickets for this event are priced at E300 and can be accessed on Web tickets which is an online digital platform.
