A BLESSED WORSHIP ENCOUNTER WITH LONDIWE

MANZINI – Former MTN Joyous Celebration member Londiwe Sphe Nxumalo and local artists gave epic performances at the Worship Encounter on Saturday.

The event was held at Manzini Metropolitan. The event was headlined by Nxumalo; who also gave local artists a chance to shine. Some of the artists who performed were; Sipho Makhabane, Siyabonga Dlamini, Nduduzo Matse, Frans Dlamini South Africa’s (SA) Glory of the Last Days to name a few. The show was presented by Inshukumo Christian Organisation, an Inter-denominated Christian movement which gathers believers from all over KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) and beyond. This organisation is currently running activation exercise all over Africa, gathering saints as per their obligation of advancing the Gospel.

Nxumalo is a multi-award winner, the hand and the voice behind the song; ‘Ngenzelwisimanga’. She is also known for the song ‘Akhonamandla’. Nxumalo was born in Shiselweni.  She recently performed in Durban at the Crown Gospel Music Awards on November 27, this year. Nxumalo also performed two weeks ago at the Eswatini Gospel Awards which were held at Mavuso Trade and Exhibition Centre. She has been visiting churches around the kingdom to promote her Worship Encounter event. The deco at the venue was top class, it boasted of an elegant radiant stage complemented by sprawling screens. The event started three hours later at 9pm; the initial proposed time was 6pm. The programme directors were Pastor Mbingo and Pamela ‘Figurebelt’ Zwane. Celmusa Mdlalose was the first speaker of the night, in his opening remarks, he welcomed the attendees.

He also appreciated the presence of fans, and screamed, ‘I love you’. The first act of the night was local Gospel artist Mefika Ginindza, who introduced himself and engaged the fans with words of encouragement and inspiration briefly before he sang. He performed for 20 minutes to usher in musician Bheki Gwebu who maintained the captivating pace set by Ginindza when introducing the show. His performance got the fans dancing near the stage area.

Artist

The next artist was Mancoba Dlamini, who took to the stage and sang his song titled ‘Ngiphakamisela amehlo’ . Siyabonga Dlamini marked his territory when entering the stage, he also got fans to dance uniformly near the stage area.  His energy and spirit while performing on stage captured most attention with Nxumalo coming to stand near the stage engulfed in spirit while watching the talented artist. Local Gospel giant Frans appeared to be taken by the young musician energy as he danced while focused on Siyabonga’s performance. After the delightful performance by Siyabonga, the main act of the event, Nxumalo, took over the stage energeticly reciting a word of prayer while her music was playing in the background. Her performance was thrilling from the onset, attracting fans to dance near the stage area. Her performance was in two sets, with the second set taking effect towards the morning at 4am and lasting for an hour.

Talent

After her first set, other artists got their chance to shine, showcasing their talent on stage. These included the likes of Mphumalanga-born Gospel artist Sipho Makhabane who displayed raw talent running and jumping on stage. SA musician Sindiswa Maseko, locals Ndududzo Matse, Bheki Gwebu from Come to Jesus Gospel group, Nsindiso Mazeka and Khanyisile Dlamini. In the interest of time, these artists each performed briefly not exceeding 30 minutes as the event had a lengthy line-up. All artists came out guns blazing on stage while mantaining the energy set by the likes of Nxumalo, Sipho Makhabane, Nsindiso Mazeka, Nduduzo Matse and Siyabonga Dlamini, to name a few. The event ended at around 6am.
