MBABANE – Playing with the big guns!

Local DJ !Sooks will perform alongside  celebrated accomplished South African (SA) Deep House stars next month in Johannesburg. Born Sukoluhle Dlamini !Sooks’s musical exploits have established him as one of Southern Africa’s top Electronic music talents. The DJ has recently collaborated with Velemseni, a local artist, for the hit single titled ‘Musa’. This song is currently seating at number three in Eswatini Top 20 Charts for the month of August in Eswatini Broadcasting and Information Services (EBIS2).

Spiritual

‘Musa’ the profound House single, taken from the siSwati word ‘Umusa’ loosely translated to grace. It’s a spiritual song that conveys a message of gratitude for the gift of grace. Velemseni, whose name means ‘one who comes from grace’, renders a captivating performance over an enchanting melody composed by !Sooks on this song. In SA !Sooks has been featured on a show presented by ‘World without end’, which is a record label established by Julian Gomes. This show will also feature United Kingdom (UK) Deep House DJ Jimpster, SA DJ and radio host Kid Fonque, Vinny da Vinci and Julian Gomes himself. Jimpster also known as Audiomontage, real name Jamie Odell, is a British Deep House producer and DJ. He founded the labels Freerange Records and Delusions of Grandeur.

Shuffled

While playing his own tracks Jimpster also works on remixes and also worked on the song ‘400 years’ by Bob Marley. Julian Gomes is an avid music fan, producer and DJ from SA on an eternal quest to widen his music horizons with shuffled claps and Electronic Soul. He is a big player in the Deep House industry and his expertise has allowed him to tour different horizons in the world. Kid Fonque played a vital part in SA Electronic music over the last 20 years. He has firmly established himself and accomplished in both influence and scope. He’s not only a DJ but also a producer, label owner, promoter and more recently a radio host at Worldwide FM. Fonque has helped nurture many artists with his role as label manager of Africa’s seminal dance label Soul Candi Records and his newly established label ‘Stay True Sounds’. Vinny Da Vinci is also a SA Deep House DJ, who recently performed in Eswatini at the ‘Deep House Conversations’ show in courtesy of Swazi Boy Entertainment.

Gratitude

He will also share the stage with !Sooks in Johannesburg for the upcoming ‘World without end’ show. !Sooks recently performed at the Farmers Market festival which was held at Malkerns Country Club early this month. When reached for comment about having to share the decks with the above iconic Deep House DJ’s, !Sooks expressed his gratitude for being invited to the show. “It’s an honour and a privilege to be invited to the ‘World without end’ show. Being a part of a line-up like this one, means a lot to me. It’s a huge complement not only to me but also to my brand. “It’s a big one and it really means a lot to me. It just confirms the amount of work I have been putting in this year and for the other years as well.

Validates

“It validates the work and I am looking forward to it” !Sooks said. The last time !Sooks played at ‘World without end’ was in 2019, he shared the stage with; Kat la Kat and Euphonik.
