5 SELECTED FOR PNP LUJU COOK-OFF COMPETITION

MBABANE – The five chosen ones!

The Standard Bank Luju Food & Lifestyle Festival together with Pick n Pay are pleased to announce the five contestants selected from the many creative and exciting entries to the Pick n Pay Luju Cook-Off 2022 Competition. Congratulations are in order for the selected contestants: Neliswa Nkala, Justina Bain, King Terry, Thabiso Tibana and Tandzile Nkhabidze!
They are all professionals in the culinary field with a passion and dedication for food, looking to expand their visions. Their Afro-Fusion dishes embraced the Luju Culinary theme, mixing exotic ingredients into a vibrant melting pot of indigenous tastes and techniques. They impressed the judges with their creativity and the competition for Pick n Pay Luju Cook-Off Master Chef 2022 looks fierce! The top five will compete with a pre-cook-off on Saturday, at the Sage Café, Pick n Pay Malkerns. Only three contestants will go through to the next stage and there will be a public online voting process to pick the two finalists.

Festival

The final cook-off will be held at the Standard Bank Luju Food & Lifestyle Festival with Somizi Mhlongo on the judging panel. The Pick n Pay Luju Cook-Off Competition, supported by Pick n Pay Lojaf, is aimed at developing local culinary entrepreneurs through prizes which facilitate personal and business growth, and over E20 000 worth in prizes will be won, including Guba permaculture courses, and a cash prize of E10 000 for the winner. Both Standard Bank Luju Food & Lifestyle Festival and Pick n Pay are invested in supporting local food producers, and have partnered with Rhodes Food Group, Lactalis, KWV, Emlembe, Southern Trading, Black Mamba, and Eswatini Retail Solutions (ERS) to ensure that the competition involves 100 per cent local products and enterprises.
