AUBREY QWANA SET FOR BIGGEST BRAAI FESTIVAL

The fifth edition of the Biggest Braai organisers have announced South African (SA)Maskandi, Mbaqanga singer Aubrey Qwana as the headliner act on Friday. The 28-year-old South African rapper from KwaZulu Natal has made his mark in the entertainment scene through his unique music and fashion. He mastered the art of infusing Afro-soul, Hip Hop, Arna Zion and R&B genres. The artist has collaborated with quite a few names in the music industry, from the likes of DJ Tira, Sho Majozi to Makwa Beats, just to name a few.

 When reached for comment, Philani Maswati Charity Organisation Chairman, Lutfo Dlamini shed more light about the headliner, “A businessman in South Africa and Eswatini has showed his support and appreciation for the initiative the charity is doing to raise funds for helping the needy. He has pledged to donate blankets to the elderly after the event and also to sponsor a South African artist who also believes in helping the vulnerable, Aubrey Qwana will  perform alongside other artists,” said Dlamini.

Eswatini Biggest Braai is an event that was established in 2015 as a charity donation platform. The proceeds of the braai go to Philani Maswati Charity Organisation. The event has grown over the years with numbers at each event reaching an outstanding 10 000 attendees. It is also amongst the shows to look out for in Eswatini, it appears in the events calendar of the country along international events like Bushfire Festival.

The last edition which was in 2019 saw Mavuso Trade Centre pack 9 000 people who flocked the exhibition and arena. It got support from numerous banks, cellular network providers, and insurance companies, hotels, branding companies and more. There was a wide variety of music rendered at the event, from Country music to Gospel and Kwaito acts. This year will offer an explosion of performances from all genres namely; Gospel, Choral music, Amapiano and Afro-soul, from acts like Karly B, Ayacity, Linda Dlamini and Manzini choral choir. The festival will have two stages put in place to cover the different entertainment sections that the festival has to offer.
