MBABANE – The weekend has gone by and reviews of what was happening emerge.

Renowned South African award-winning motswako rapper Fifi Cooper, whose real name is Refilwe Boingotlo Moeketsi was in the country to tour and to promote her newest single titled ‘Net So’.

The artist had her hands full during her stay in the country, which was from Thursday until her departure this past Sunday afternoon.

Her first appearance was a live interview with rapper KrTC also known as Thamsanqa Sibandze on Daniel Toro TV (DTTV), where she was speaking about her collaboration with Symphony.

The interview was held at the XChange Lounge and Shisanyama in Manzini and was recorded live.

She also went into studio on Friday to record a song with two local artists Zinia and Kena, who are both nominated for the ‘best newcomer’ award in this year’s MTN SWAMA awards.

In addition to that, she also facilitated an entertainment business workshop at Emfuleni Lifestyle themed ‘Minding My Business’, where she was sharing on her unique experiences being under a major record label to owning the only black female owned record label in South Africa.

Only a limited number of people attended the workshop, which was deemed to be beneficial to upcoming and established artists alike, where they learned to build a brand from scratch as well as staying at the top.

The Entertainment Desk spoke to Kena, whose real name is Ayanda Tsela about the collaboration between him and Fifi Cooper.

“Working with Fifi has been nothing but great, no words would describe the feeling. I learnt a lot from her about the music business as well as how to handle yourself as an artist. I really can’t wait for people to finally listen to what we came out with in studio,” he said.

He also revealed that he had dropped a single and a video on Friday titled ‘Myekeleni’ from his upcoming extended play (EP).

“It’s the third single and second video to come out from the project and I’m really happy with the response we’re getting for the video,” he said.

pleased

Fifi Cooper, through an interview with this publication, said she was pleased with the welcome she received from Eswatini from the time she arrived until she left.

“I feel honoured to be back in the country after my last time in the kingdom, which was in February,” she said.

She further highlighted that she was cementing and validating her fanbase in the country especially through the collaborations with local artists.

“I am looking forward to more collaborations and performances in the country. It also gave me honour to be able to give back to the few local artists, who came to the seminar to learn some things through my experiences as an artist,” she added.

Although the singer made a special appearance at Solani’s Shisanyama on Saturday night, her performance was barred from happening by the police, citing a possible breach of COVID-19 regulations that would happen if she performed.
