MBABANE – Adding on a new service.

Online radio and entertainment platform Jelele.com has announced an addition of a new service onto their platform.

This was according to the Chief Executive Officer, Paul ‘Dr. P’ Tarvis, who said users of the platform would now be able to purchase music.

“Effective immediately, fans of local music will be able to buy songs and albums direct from the digital platform using MOMO Pay and no USSD numbers will be required as you may just need a positive balance in your MTN Mobile Money account and a valid email address,” he said.

He also announced that other payment methods would go live later this month as they were still undergoing extensive testing before the rollout.

Distribute

“Artists and labels who want to distribute their music on Jelele.com can send a request for distribution to media@jelele.com and the process can begin,” added Dr. P. The CEO announced that the Jelele.com online shop had some great security features to ensure customer data was protected, as well as the latest embedding techniques that ensured the protection of content purchased from Jelele.com, which enabled the ability to trace the source when people were thinking of piracy.

“Jelele.com will not hesitate to use all in their power to make sure offenders pay the maximum penalty for pirating or mass distributing local music bought on the site,” he commanded.

In this new app, secret shoppers will also be employed to visit shops or people that allow people to come and download music or movies on a flash or phone, that are littered all over Eswatini.

“At the moment, we cannot do anything about foreign content being illegally distributed by these people, but local content bought from Jelele.com will be a different story. If we want to build our industry, these shops and businesses that deal in downloads, must be closed or become official licensed distributors,” remarked Dr P.

Other products that will be available for purchase as the rollout continues include clothes, books, movies and specialty items from Eswatini that will be sold and shipped worldwide. People interested in selling their products in the online store can also send a request for details to media@jelele.com.
