MBABANE - Big girl doing big things.

After being a cover girl of a New York based magazine called ‘Height’, Nolwazi ‘Snowee’ Simelane will feature in a well-known series from South Africa called ‘Isono.’

The above mentioned was confirmed by her agent  Bekezele Dube in an interview with the Entertainment Desk yesterday.

Dube, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Becky Castings, expressed her enormous excitement and shared that one of their main mandate was to provide a platform for local talented artists in South Africa.

“I am super excited for Snowee who is gradually getting into the South African acting industry. I am also happy that I am actually fulfilling my promise to the local arts and culture sector,” she said.

She went on to explain how Snowee bagged the deal, which was through a casting company.

“Isono is also one of the production companies I cast for under Clive Morris productions. If a character is needed a brief is sent to me. Snowee managed to bag a role because of her astonishing beauty and features,” she explained.

Snowee will be playing a character by the name of Thuso.

It is worth noting that Snowee is not just a model but she is also an actress and has been featured on different series from South Africa.

One of the recent features was from a popular movie called ‘Seriously Single’, where she was working with the likes of the renowned Bohang from South Africa.

In an interview with the talented Snowee, she expressed her excitement and shared that 2020 has been a good year despite the COVID-19 pandemic that has halted the entertainment industry.

“This is huge for me and I am very excited. This opportunity came at a time where I was not expecting anything because of the current COVID-19 pandemic. It came with so many challenges and restrictions; I had already cancelled out this year. Getting a feature, let alone a role is the hardest thing in South Africa, I am grateful and I consider myself lucky. I am sure they had hundreds of options and people vying for it,” she said.

dreams

She went on to thank her agency for making her dreams come true and shared her excitement as she will be working with the best actors and crew in South Africa.

“Working with the best actors in the industry is something I was looking forward to. You learn from the best and I am a good mimic,” she said.

It is also worth noting that Snowee is not the first local artist to be featured in a well-known South African series. Ntombifuthi from the Shiselweni region was once featured on Isibaya and Generations.
