Spots

This reporter gathered submissions from around popular hangout spots in Ezulwini, where Nonduduzo Dlamini said; “When I came here, I expected to see all COVID-19 regulations being obliged to. Patrons had their masks on, including myself and I feel like although drinking with a mask on is impossible, however, it is up to each and every individual to practise caution on how not to spread the virus.”

Meanwhile, Sibahle Gama said with the current pandemic, he felt like people would take it seriously, he felt disappointed that a few people were not wearing masks properly. Although he felt his comment was detrimental to the business owners, he felt as though people needed to adhere to the COVID-19 regulations in order for businesses to keep operating.

Drinking

Zethu Simelane said, with the regulations in place, it was really hard to have people not drinking because groove was associated with alchoholic beverages and there could be no distinction between sober and drunk patrons. Instead, it was up to each establishment to practise that responsibility. It is worth noting that also alcohol sales are not permitted during the weekend, however, this reporter has a till slip showing a purchase of Savanna, served to him on a Saturday.
