MBABANE – Reaching new heights.  Eswatini rapper, Illa Penboy’s ‘Donate Bread’ campaign has been growing over the last few months since it started.

The number of loaves donated are increasing, inspiring a thought back to the scriptures of miracles Jesus performed when he fed the 5 000 with five loaves of bread and two fish.
In the latest news of the campaign, the rapper revealed on his Facebook page that he had received sponsorship from Institute of Research Management and Development (IRDM) towards helping the less privileged.

The rapper, whose real name is Sifiso Ndlangamandla, shared in a brief message on the popular social media platform that the education institute based in Mbabane had sponsored five courses to help the less privileged.
“Every parent wants to help their child succeed; however, when it comes to paying for college, it is not always possible.

Offer

“We are excited about this offer and we will make sure deserving kids get this opportunity,” he said.
Speaking to the Entertainment Desk, the institution’s Director, Dr Olive Museka said they had been observing and were drawn to the campaign as it had been growing over time.
“We saw the change that it brought to the lives of the less privileged and we thought it would be great to participate towards this great cause,” he said.
Museka shared that this was an important exercise because the skills that would be received from the institution would be for a lifetime.

“As an institution we will pay 100 per cent of the fees, although at this time we cannot quantify the amount due to the complexity and variation of the courses we have,” he remarked.
He also mentioned that with the help of the team on the ground, who had been organising the campaign, they would be able to identify the deserving people.  IRDM is a capacity building, management, development, research and training institution, which focuses in offering a wide range of high quality short and long term courses.

Improve

These are aimed at equipping learners at all levels of the workforce with the hard and soft skills needed to improve key competencies. To date the campaign has donated a countless loaves of bread to less privileged people, having kicked off two months ago.
The campaign through the people that have jumped on board have managed to travel across the country to deliver the loaves of bread in all the four regions at different tinkhundla centres and carepoints through the assistance of chiefs and the local municipalities.

‘Mr Successful Events’ as he calls himself, also shared that through the campaign they were not only receiving loaves of bread but packets of sugar and heads of lettuce.
He encouraged people to help in joining the campaign by sending as little as E10 for the loaves of bread as this would be an ongoing programme beyond the lockdown regulations due to COVID-19.

This is a first for an institution to offer an opportunity of a life time to deserving yet less privileged children although he has in the past received great support from other organisations towards building a home for a family in Hlatikhulu.
Among the sponsors that the campaign had received, the rapper revealed that he had also attracted help from Seef Properties, El Shadai Swaziland, Premier Bakeries as well as RSM Eswatini.
