MBABANE – Eswatini’s nation-building-through-conversation platform, Simply Speaking, will this coming Thursday host industry players in the entertainment sector.

The online conversation dubbed ‘How we Kept the Music Playing, and Importantly, Our Hopes Alive’, is part of a series named ‘Home-Schooled by a Virus’.
According to Mzameni Mpanza, who is part of the organising team, the talk show sought to unpack the experiences of entertainment industry players during the lockdown.

These will include the likes of Mthunzi ‘Shadow’ Zwane from Swazi Boy Entertainment, Bongani Thizalami Dube, who is the Public Relations Officer for Eswatini Arts and Music Association (SWAMA), Phetsile Masilela, who is the President for the Association for Christian Artists in Eswatini (ACAESWA) and Producer for the well-loved Eswatini TV telenovela ‘Ekhaya’, Welile Masuku.

“The aim is for the nation to know how the people, who have been at the forefront of their nourishment and healing during the lockdown, have been holding up — providing  a clear picture of how the industry is during this time,” said Mpanza.  He stated that knowing about such discussions around these experiences, could provide a collective way towards solutions to all the challenges local artists have experienced.

Mpanza also added that the aim was not to assume or rush to conclusions, but let the players participating in the conversation talk to the nation objectively.
The discussion will be simulcast on Facebook, YouTube and Instagram on ‘Simply Speaking with LeendorM & Ph.D’ from 6:30pm and will be moderated by Phila ‘Ph.D’Dlamini, who for this week will be taking over from Lindokuhle ‘LeendorM’ Mthupha.
