MBABANE – If you are a gospel singer and ready to usher people into the presence of the Lord, then this is for you.
Eswatini Gospel Music Talent Search is back again and will be open for participants to enter.

This was confirmed by the organiser Thulani Ntshangase in an interview with the Entertainment Desk yesterday.
The first season of the show had Portia Msibi as the winner, Buhle Mthethwa took second place and Phiwa Shongwe came in third place.
The grand winners took home packages from Eswatini Mobile and recording deals.

“We are happy that Eswatini Mobile kept its promise of giving the winner a smart cellphone and the E365, 12 months no frills package,” he said.
He went on to share that they had received requests from the public to host the competition again.

requests

“We have had so many requests from the public to host this year’s talent search and we want to let the public know that Eswatini Gospel Music Talent Search is returning,” he said.
He also added that they had been monitoring the current COVID-19 pandemic and they were still to decide on how they would conduct the competition.
“We have been monitoring the COVID-19 situation as the government has set some rules and standards that need to be observed by everyone.

We have also been looking at possibilities of doing an online talent search but as the rules have been relaxed by the government, we are considering going back to the initial method of visiting all the regions and conducting auditions. We are, however, not taking the current pandemic for granted,as we want all our participants to be safe. We will, however, keep the nation on the loop on when season two will commence,” he added.

success

It is worth noting that the first season was a success and was supported by Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture and YemaSwati channel to name a few.
“We were very much pleased by the talent search last year as it unearthed a lot of talent that the country now has in the gospel fraternity.

Most of the participants are calling management in appreciation for exposing their talent and we have been made aware that some of them will be releasing their single recordings and albums,” he said.

He went on to plead with businesses and people who wanted to support the competitions, for them to have better prizes this year.
