MBABANE – Postponed! With the Covid-19 pandemic still affecting millions of people in the region and across the globe, the Standard Bank Luju Food & Lifestyle Festival has announced the postponement of its annual event to 2021.

“We are committed to prioritising the safety and security of our beloved home, the Kingdom of Eswatini, our festival guests, and our staff members,” said Communications Officer Phiwokuhle Dhlamini.

Dhlamini said they could not wait to welcome all the fashionistas, foodies, and fans to the breath-taking House on Fire in Eswatini for a third installation of the country’s Food and Fashion Event of the Year.

She remarked that the most reasonable decision was to wait until all gatherings could be deemed safe and secure again.
“The success and growth of the festival in the last two years has inspired an all-new, exciting development – the Standard Bank Luju Food & Lifestyle Festival will now be a two-day event,” she said.

Wholesome

She highlighted that fans of ‘Luju’ could expect a double serving of yet another wholesome feast of local and regional food demonstrations, fashion showcases, cultural celebrations and feel-good music to sway to.
“With a focus on sustainability projects, the festival will continue to support local and regional development and encourage enriching conversations around food, fashion and lifestyle,” she added.

Dhlamini expressed her excitement and welcomed the creative interpretations of the festival’s theme, ‘A Return to the African Future’ at next year’s event.
She urged fans to expect to, once again, flaunt their best African-inspired vintage fashion and unique style.
“With over a year to plan your outfit, we are anticipating the most fashionable edition of Luju to date,” she stated.

Dhlamini further said a new date for the festival was being finalised and would be announced in due course.

Announcements

“Please make sure to keep visiting our website (www.lujufestival.com) and social platforms – @LujuFestival on Facebook and Twitter, @Luju_Festival on Instagram – for up-to-date announcements in the weeks and months to come. Together, in 2021,” she concluded.
