MBABANE – You did not see this one coming. The country music song bird Cleopatra ‘Miss Roses’ Methula, has spread her wings to reach other countries through her talent.

She has been recognised by one of the well-known shows called ‘Nashville Meets World’.  Nashville Meets World is a music talk show which takes viewers around the world, through songs from various artists globally and is based in the United States of America and the United Kingdom.

This was confirmed by ‘Miss Roses’ in an interview with the Entertainment Desk. She expressed her excitement and shared that the invite also meant that the local industry was also recognised.

“I was honoured, the invite proves that Eswatini is a home of true talent and with the current on-going COVID-19 pandemic, this is a big opportunity to tap into. It will also expand our fan base by allowing our music to reach a larger group of people around the world,” she said.

She went on to share that the Nashville Meets World team saw her profile and approached her.
It is worth noting that the ‘Imali’ hit maker has hoisted the country’s flag in other big platforms.
Last year, she bagged two awards at the 2019 Texas Sounds International Country Music Awards that were held in Texas in the United States of America.

Methula was not only nominated, but she was given the opportunity to also perform during these awards. She came back home with the title of the ‘Best Duo ’and ‘Best Rising Star of the year’.

The above mentioned awards attracted different kinds of musicians around the globe as some were from Australia, Belgium, Canada, Spain and the Republic of South Africa to name a few.

She has also been recognised by the CNN African Voices which did a documentary of her, talking about the country and her love for country music.“People can always expect the best from us and we will surely represent the country and we would like to thank all our supporters,” she said.

Nashville Meets World is currently available at www.facebook.com/NashvilleMeetsWorld and Nashville Meets World on YouTube.

The show will be premiered on Facebook through Nashville Meets World media pages, on May30, (Saturday) at 8pm. “It will be a live set that will take 50 minutes. People are welcome to tune in and enjoy our live set. They can also watch the show after the live set through my social media pages,” she said.

She is also not the first local artist to be recognised overseas, as local country music duo Dusty and Stones have also been to Texas.

Eswatini National  Council of Arts and Culture (ENCAC) Chief Executive Officer Stanley Dlamini said they were delighted and proud of the artist.

He went on to share that, the opportunity was a big one especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, where the entertainment world was also suffering the most.

“We are excited for her and the industry at large. She has something special to offer and this just shows the magnitude of the talent we have in Eswatini. She has done nothing but work all these years and now she is simply reaping the rewards.

We are also impressed with the unity shown by country music artists in the Kingdom and we wish her all the best,” said Dlamini.
