MBABANE – Yielding fruitful connections one song at a time!

This has proved true for Eswatini RnB musician Adrienne Foo after her song Nguwe made the list to the Scorpion Kings’ EP that dropped on Saturday night. The Extended Play (EP) titled ‘Once Upon A Time in Lockdown’ is a collection of 15 tracks that feature various artists. Adrienne Foo’s song is number five and it is only available for download at zamusic.org.
Born Nomfundo Sibandze, Adrienne Foo is a musician whose passion for music began at an early age. News of the collaboration hit the streets in late February this year when DJ Maphorisa showed interest in her music which she had posted as a teaser on the popular social media platfom, Twitter. The video immediately sparked conversations from people who encouraged the DJ and songstress to finally make it happen.

Movements

The Entertainment Desk has been closely following these developments with the artist’s song movements and  as of last  Friday evening the song had already made it into Maphorisa’s set lists which he performed on social networking site Instagram Live Feed. Being an RnB artist has not held the artist back from exploring other genres as this latest feature is an amapiano kind which gained prominence in late 2018. She has made appearances at prominent stages in Eswatini as in 2014 she performed at the internationally acclaimed Swazi Jive event titled HipNotik Festival. The artist is also independent after parting ways with Swazi Jive Records last year in September. Worth noting is the string of projects that the artist has worked on throughout her music career which spans over six years, such as hit songs in her 10 track debut album titled ‘In My Head’ which includes Divine, AdrienneCardiFoo as well as Die for Me.

Streaming

In 2016 she released a music video for her song Dangerous which made it to over 100 000 views on popular video streaming site YouTube as well as making a performance in Las Vegas, USA in 2019. The artist did not comment much about the collaboration but simply put it in a tweet on Saturday afternoon saying that indeed the song was coming as proved by the video Live video posted by Maphorisa.
