4 000 VIEWS FOR CONNIE & SHONA

MBABANE – Illa Penboy’s star keeps rising. If natural born influencer was a person, Mr Successful Events, also known as Illa Penboy rela name Sifiso Ndlangamandla.
His song Connie & Shona has garnered over 5000 YouTube views within its first weekend of release.


The song was released last Friday and immediately attracted the attention of many people in Eswatini who wanted to hear what this song named after South Africa’s power couple ‘The Fergusons’.
Illa had hinted a release of the song earlier in the week on his Facebook page.
Since the song was released it has also attracted a some of mixed reactions from the public at large as they question the rapper’s abilities to rap, however his supporters who he fondly refers to as ‘Fam’ have come out in full swing to show their undying love for the rapper.


As noted in his comments on social media, a few of those that seem to be mocking him changed tune some hours after he announced that the song was a hit among listeners.
One would question whether the hate that that the rapper is subjected t is based on genuine dislike for his songs or just a matter of going with what everybody else says about him.
In an earlier interview with the Entertainment Desk, the rapper said this song was inspired by his relationship.
“Love is a beautiful thing.


This is an appreciation song for people who still believe in true love and Connie and Shona inspired many couples to win as a team, including our couple,” he said.
Illa said the song was produced by Eswatini award-winning music producer Subjamz.


The rapper who grew up in humble beginnings in Hlatikhulu often stresses the importance of growing and supporting your own as he believes in job creation.
He believes that with performances he is booked to perform in he is participating in job creation.


When asked about the reception of the song, the rapper said he was excited at how people have over the years grown to appreciate his music. He said he cannot wait for the video views to keep soaring. The song is also available on his Mr. Successful Events app which is sponsored by MTN Mobile Money for E15 and as such local fans and supporters can download it.
