MBABANE – The House on Fire team is prepared to bring a unique experience to people. This time around, they have done this by including rare and exhilarating artists for their New Year’s Crossover Party dubbed ‘One Tribe, One Planet’ which is slated for December 32 at House on Fire in Malkerns.

House on Fire Communications Officer Phiwokuhle Dhlamini said it would be a spirit-filled atmosphere of percussive magic, rhythmic celebration and poetic charm!

“Leading the tribe into a land of musical wonderland will be Afro-Brazilian band, Napalma.

Groovy

Napalma adventurously explores musical boundaries, mingling Afro-Brazilian sounds and percussions, electronic beats, brasses and eclectic vocals in a groovy explosion you just have to dance to.

“Senegalese vocalist Abass Ndiaye injects new energy into Napalma, his vocals bouncing playfully on Cid Travaglia’s high-tempo drumming-electro-percussion baseline. After touring in Germany, Spain, Egypt and Colombia, the trendy electro-percussion group are coming to light up your New Year with their stimulating brand of slick beats and growling vocals,” said Dhlamini.

Entertaining revellers will be an electrifying and intoxicating musical experience of the Shepard Bothers from Eswatini.
The trio offers a refreshing, soul-stirring and hype-inducing performance through their eclectic fusion of tribal dance music, live percussion and a visually stimulating fire performance, making them a sheer marvel to watch.

The Shepard Brothers’ fire acrobat, Fire Ninja, will turn up the heat with his self-made fire equipment and creative ability to interpret the skilful mix of dance music by the group’s DJ, Valuable DJ, and the rhythmic beating of the drums by percussionist, Slindamullar.
“Their interactive performance and haunting sounds of the African Drum will have you setting the dancefloor ablaze with dance moves that you did not even know you had.

“Our Tribal gathering would not be complete without an enchanting moment of oral storytelling to amplify the magic in our diversity and reinforce our spirit of oneness.”
Another performance will come from Eswatini-born poet and entertainer, Mysh.
Mysh will present a compilation of original pieces using his medium of stand-up poetry, sharing messages that resonate deeply with the spirit of unity echoed in their theme, ‘One Tribe, One Planet’.

“Through his rhythm, rhyme and musicality of the spoken word, Mysh will explore issues that hinder our quest for unity, such as hate and the abuse of power. He will artistically strike a blinding light on the importance of love, empathy and togetherness in our collective journey towards overcoming the ills that plague our planet today,” said Dhlamini.

Eswatini’s arts collective of DJs and producers, Motherland X, will keep spirits high and the atmosphere alive with their live DJ sets and sophisticated mixes. The stable’s DJs MKAY, DJ Ophis, DJ Muscle, DJ Tap and DJ Lu will be dishing out some good vibes and good music, setting the tone for an epic 2020.
