MBABANE – Storybook, fairytale endings, a true story brought to life. Most books are based on research one has compiled, but this author went with an autobiography as he shares his life experiences.

Sifiso Ndlangamandla, famously known as Illa Penboy, is on a journey of writing his experiences which he hopes will inspire a lot of young people.
In an interview with the talented rapper and events organiser, he said he wanted to share his experiences with the youth through his book titled ‘How to hustle your way up.’

“The book is for young people, especially those who are still in school. I feel like I have been through a lot and with this book I know people will be inspired,” he said.

The book is set to be released before the schools open early next year.
“My target market is young people. I want them to know what is really out there, the challenges, toxic people and most importantly how to overcome them,” he said.

Challenges

The book will not only give the readers tips, but it will also be a reflection on what Illa Penboy has done while making his way up the entertainment industry and the challenges he has faced while going through this transition.

“It will be all about me and what I went through. I know people may want to know how I got here. It will start on the day I left my mother and lived in a one room for seven years,” he said.

He went on to share how people used to perceive him, especially when it came to his craft and his singing career.  He was the first artist to host a show dubbed ‘Fill up Mavuso’ last year and this year it was ‘Fill up Mogambo’.

It was a huge success and was attended by a number of influential people with a few relevant big artists from South Africa,  the likes of the ‘Kokota’ hit makers Bizizi and Lehleza ‘Umshove’ vocalist. Other local personalities in the entertainment industry that have released books based on their life stories include Bonkhe Shabangu and Mncedisi Simelane.
