BET AWARD WINNING SHO MADJOZI FOR SUMMER FEST

MBABANE – ‘Iyah!’ From winning a BET award to being WWE Wrestler John Cena’s theme song, South African celebrated artist, Sho Madjozi is heading to Eswatini.


Real name, Maya Christinah Xichavo Wegerif, known professionally as Sho Madjozi has been added to the epic line-up of the show dubbed ‘Summer Fest’, which is set to take place at Malkerns Country Club on September 27.

 This was confirmed by her manager, Palesa Sibeko, in an interview with the Entertainment Desk yesterday.
 “Yes, Sho Madjozi will be present and will be performing at Summer Fest. we are looking forward to being hosted in the beautiful country as we were there for the BUSHFIRE festival earlier this year,” she said.


The talented Tsonga rapper will be performing alongside Durban-based gqom renowned DJs Distruction Boyz, the ‘Uwrongo’ hit maker Busiswa, GC from Uzalo, queen of gqom Babes Wodumo and Mampintsha to name a few.


Hosts of the show, Invasion Lifestyle through their Manager, Thandeka Msibi, said they were excited to add Sho Majozi to the line-up that is already causing frenzy among revellers who have shown interest in attending the how.

 “Sho Madjozi was our surprise act and she is the last artist we have added to our line-up which people have been patiently waiting for,” she said.
“Tickets are still available at all Galito’s outlets,” she said.


 Msibi also added that they would be adding more local artists, as they were planning on taking one DJ from each local stable.
 “With the help of DJ Khwanny, who is also the event organiser, we will select each DJ,” she added.
“We want to welcome summer in style,” she added.


Recently, WWE wrestler John Cena gave Mzansi sensation Sho Madjozi his stamp of approval after she debuted her newest track John Cena on music platform Colors. Colors is a unique aesthetic music platform which features mostly up- and-coming artists from all around the globe - filmed in a brightly coloured cube. In June, the Tsonga rapper walked away with the BET Award for Best International Act - and made history as the first South African female to do so.
