E70 000 CAR FOR GEDLEMBANE

 MBABANE – New wheels! Local comedian Gedlembane has bought himself a blue Mazda Alexa Sport which, according to him, was worth E70 000, which he paid for in cash. 

The comedian whose real name is Jacob Shongwe, shared with publication that he had been looking forward to the day he owned a car because he was tired of hitch-hiking.

The local comedian who rose to fame after taking part in the first ever LOL Comedy competition, which took place in 2015, revealed that he had been saving for his car and that it was through his gig payments that he was eventually able to afford a car.

“I have been saving for this car and it’s only through comedy that I have been able to raise the money for my new whip, I am so excited as this is my first car and I am looking forward to enjoying it,” said Shongwe.

It weighs a quoted 1 430kg at the kerb.The comedian, who has successfully hosted a one man show, said he drew inspiration from his fellow industry friends such as Smallz, who he has been working closely with on his famous YouTube streamed skit channel that they both feature on together with Silwane. Smallz, whose real name is Lungelo Gina, said he was happy for his colleague as this meant that it would now be easier for him to move from one gig to the other.

He further jokingly said that it would also save him the stress of getting calls from Gedlembane during awkward hours asking for a pick-up.
On the other hand, Gedlembane expressed how much the public has been showing support towards his craft and the online short videos that he and his fellow mates, Smallz and Silwane record on a regular basis, talking about funny life experiences.

Speaking to SWAMA President, Melusi Zox Dlamini, he said it gave them great joy seeing local entertainers growing in the industry and doing something with the little that they got. He further advised Gedlembane to drive safe and adhere to road rules while he enjoys his new wheels. Gedlembane joins the list of local comedians who have cars such as Mdura and Smallz.
