MBABANE – Terrace Grill is no more. Trying economic times have forced popular hangout spot and restaurant Terrace Grill to close its doors.

The said up-class restaurant, which was located in Manzini, was known for its impeccable wines, grills and entertainment, which was served at their performance arena known as The Place.

This spirit dampening news was revealed by the owner of the place, Max Dlamini, who said the place had shut down after being in existence for 10 years.
Dlamini confessed to hanging his gloves, citing difficult economic times and the need to focus on more profitable ventures.

somehow

“The restaurant business is nice to have, but somehow, not a concrete road ahead,” he said.
He also said he operated the establishment for about 10 years and had really enjoyed himself, creating a whole lot of good friends in the process.
“We would like to take this opportunity to thank our staff, customers, patrons, suppliers, and our landlord. A big thank you all those who supported us,” he said.

renowned

The venue  closed its doors in style by hosting a party themed ‘Last Dance’ where Eswatini renowned artist Bholoja gave out a sentimental and brilliant performance. Veteran DJ Xtra Luv took over from Bholoja, flocking the dance floor with guests.
Gcokosiyancinca and Mgundatjani were the humorous hosts of the night.

Bholoja, who is one of the artists who has been performing at the venue for years, poured out his grief over the closure of the place.
“This should be an eye opener to government that the closure of such businesses is limiting our growth as artists.
“Not  only are such closures affecting us but the tourism industry as well,” said Bholoja.

He pleaded with government to engage more effectively with the arts and such entities so that the lifestyle industry is taken more seriously.
“My heart weeps for those who also lost jobs,” he said.
