MBABANE – Gospel artist The Tip-Top Reverend Simelane believes Christians are lazy and advised them to team up with drunkards.

The singer shared that Christians struggled to win many souls because they were busy mocking people who were committing sin instead of building a relationship with them with the aim of helping them.

The musician shared these sentiments during an interview with the entertainment desk to promote his latest album titled ‘Sawina Sidzakwa’. The experienced singer advised his fellow Christians against mocking people who drink alcohol and said the album had a specific message addressing this issue.

“I think as Christians we need to focus on building good relationships with these people and try to understand their situations more than we mock them and isolate ourselves from them because we do not know why they do the things they do,” he said.  He described drunkards as good, vibey people, who were always ready to help with any work especially during events such as weddings and funerals.

“Christians are lazy. Most Christians do not want to do any hard work as they expect the drunkards to do the work for them. We need to embrace these people because they play a huge role, we may win them if we strike good relationships with them,” he added. Talking about his second album, he said it was recorded at Down East studios. He said the 10-tracked project was for everyone as it was packed with positive and vital messages for the society.

Simelane said people should look out for songs such as ‘Belaphe Dokotela’, Emajournalists enkonzweni’ and ‘Asihaganeni’.
The musician and preacher said the album also discouraged gossiping against testimonies made in church as this discouraged other Christians.
