MBABANE – Big moves. Following in the footsteps of South African actress, actors, comedians, Pearl Thusi, Trevor Noah and Loyiso Gola, Eswatini-born actress, Amanda Du-Pont has officially announced her latest project which will debut on Netflix, March 8.

Du-Pont made a public announcement about her new role as Ashley on the Netflix original series titled ‘Shadow’.
She announced on her social media pages that her new project will be airing in March on a post that read; “Netflix and chill. I’m so overjoyed, to announce that I will be in a Netflix original series Shadow, playing the role of Ashley. Shadow launches on the 8th of March and will be available on Netflix.”

This will not be Du-Pont’s first role as she plays a villain known as ‘Lelo’ on Skeem Sam, which airs Monday to Friday on SABC 1.
Netflix released an official trailer of the new original series, its synopsis read: “After being struck by lightning, a young man emerges from the shadows to become Jozi’s hero. Giving up his badge to pursue justice for those who can’t help themselves, Shadow is Mzansi’s new vigilante.”

Specialist

Shadow follows detective and former task force specialist, Shadrach ‘Shadow’ Khumalo, who after the brutal murder of a young girl decides to become a fixer for people who, like him, have been failed by the criminal justice system.
With the help of his former partner, Shadow cuts a swathe through the city’s underworld taking full advantage of a rare condition that affects his central nervous system: he is impervious to physical pain.
