MBABANE – Biking is giving birth to charity deeds. The now annual Impisi Rally, which is hosted by Hyena Motorcycling Club, also known as the Hyenas, is slated for May 3 to 5 at Tum’s Water World in Sidvokodvo.

The main aim for this rally is to raise funds for charity work which the Hyenas carry out throughout the year.
Hyena Motorcycling Club PRO Sifiso ‘MK’ Maziya confirmed the dates, stating that they were happy to host the fourth Impisi Rally.

“Last year, we hosted a successful weekend event at Malkerns Country Club and we have changed venues to Tum’s Water World this year. It is still going to be a whole weekend event,” said Maziya.

Motivated

This year’s theme is ‘Leather’, which was motivated by the fact that the biking culture embraces leather and is known for leather so people are encouraged to wear leather items.

So far, over 1 500 bikers have confirmed their attendance through registration and they are from the country (Eswatini), South Africa, Botswana and Mozambique. Last year, the event was graced by over 3 500 bikers.

“We are expecting the number of participants to increase this year,” said Maziya.
It was highlighted that E10 000 would be won during the raffle draw from all entry tickets. Maziya welcomed corporate entities who wished to support the event.

Successful

“It is through corporate entities and other structures that we will be able to carry out successful social responsibility programmes which we wish to.
“We also thank Tums Water World for giving us world-class facilities at best rates and World Vision in assisting with distribution to the needy,” he said.

Donations

Last week, donations were made by Hyenas in partnership with Inyatsi Construction through the Inyatsi Cycling Club.
Also, last year, the Impisi Rally saw the renovation of the Mawelawela Day Care Centre facilities and the donation of items to new-born babies at the Mbabane Government Hospital and RFM Hospital
